I was reading “My Stroke of Insight” by Jill Bolte Taylor and I watched Oprah interview her on Oprah’s Soul Series, and I was struck by a word. JUST. You “just” have to change your thoughts and your life will change. Peace is inside you all the time. You “just” have to quiet your mind chatter to have it in your life.
Is it me or is “just” the hard part?
Brilliant people with Ph.D.s and Oprah are telling us how to have the perfect life. I hear the words. It can “just” happen.
I have tried to make things “just” happen. If trying is a kin to failure, I have tried and I have failed.
What I have found is “just” requires desire and discipline. You need discipline to, day after day, keep positive thoughts in our head. Hour after hour, keep our goals and dreams in front of us, to the exclusion of other thoughts. Relax; detach from the outcome; don’t force; let things happen; focus on what you want to attract.
A perfect life is not a pipedream, an unattainable wish. With discipline, you can expect miracles and they “just” happen.
